世界读书日：传承经典，谱写赫德中学的青春之歌 The World Book Day

4月23日是世界读书日，其设立目的是推动更多的人去阅读和写作，希望所有人都能尊重和感谢为人类文明做出过巨大贡献的大师们。每年的这一天，全世界一百多个国家都会举办各种各样的读书宣传活动 。青岛赫德的同学们也不例外，在世界读书日到来之际，青岛赫德中学部特别推出了“World Book Day”系列读书活动。接下来请跟随小编的脚步一起来回顾一下本次活动的精彩瞬间吧！

Students at HDQD Secondary School have been celebrating World Book Day by dressing up as a character from their favorite book. Mr Rees, Secondary Principal said a few months ago we launched a guided reading programme aimed at improving students’ English reading skills, whilst also developing their love of books.

It is really pleasing to see that many students have chosen to dress up as characters from the books we have read together in class.

几个月前，我们推出了一项“导读计划”，在课上带领同学们阅读了很多英文书籍。通过此次导读计划，我们希望能够帮助学生在提高英语阅读能力的同时，又能够培养他们的阅读兴趣。本次活动要求同学们发挥自己的创意，将自己打扮成书籍中的一个人物，用自己的方式诠释着自己对于阅读的理解,诠释着从阅读中收获的快乐。

很高兴地看到中学部的学生们都挑选了“导读计划”中最喜欢的书中角色来进行装扮，以“我从书中来”人物秀的方式来庆祝此次世界读书日的到来。

World Book Day is the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading that is marked in over 100 countries around the world. 

Children of all ages come together to appreciate the many benefits of reading.

世界读书日是联合国教科文组织（UNESCO）规划的规模最大的读书庆典活动。全世界一百多个国家都会在这天举行各种关于读书的宣传活动，鼓励人们阅读，无论是男女、老幼，都能享受到读书所带来的乐趣。

此次读书日活动，青岛赫德中学部还为同学们策划了一场场令人难忘的读书盛宴。

In addition to arriving at school in costume, students have been busy entering a number of World Book Day competitions including:

不仅有“我从书中来”经典人物秀的尽情演绎，还有丰富多样的创意阅读比拼大赛。其中包括：

writing a new blurb for their favourite book;

为最喜欢的书写一篇新的简介；

designing an alternative book cover for their favourite book;

为喜欢的书本设计一个独一无二的封面；

writing an alternative ending to their favourite book. 

为最喜欢的书写出一个全新的结局。

Several students wrote and performed speeches to the rest of the Secondary School explaining why they believe everyone should read their favorite book. Students in G7 and 8 performed extracts from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

在“世界读书日”的演讲展示中，同学们阐述了阅读的意义所在，倡导制定自己的读书计划，保持精神世界的富足。7年级和8年级的学生还表演了刘易斯·卡罗尔的《爱丽丝梦游仙境历险记》的节选片段，一个个鲜活的书中人物都“穿越”来到了我们的校园中，大家扮演着自己喜欢的人物，尽情地演绎着书中的各种角色，俨然成了书中人物的大狂欢！

Special awards and prizes were given to the most improved readers, the most frequent library users and the most avid readers in the school.

在本次读书日活动的最后，我们还对优秀读者、最佳阅览者以及最佳读书人进行了特别的嘉奖。

‘Reading is the foundation upon which other skills are based,’ said Mr Rees, ‘It is this philosophy that led the Secondary School at HDQD to ensure World Book Day would be a celebration in which all students could get involved.’

中学部校长Rees先生倡导，阅读是一切技能建立的基础，我们希望所有的学生都能够享受阅读所带来的快乐，并把阅读当作一种习惯，感受阅读所带来的力量。春暖花开日，正是读书时，愿我们都能成为更好的自己！
