亲爱的赫德家人们 :
2014年-2024年，时光飞逝，宁波赫德即将迎来十岁生日。过去十年，我们从一个点子，变成一粒种子，继而成长为一棵充满生命力的树，先后拥有了宁波、上海、北京、青岛和南京校区，我很荣幸能与大家一起走在这段令人心潮澎湃的征途上。
2014-2024：赫德十年回顾
这些年世界的急速变化与发展，让我们意识到——用世界听得懂的语言、看得懂的文字、讲得通的逻辑来呈现我们自己的观点、历史、文化是多么的重要。让我们的下一代，成为具有“中国灵魂、世界眼光的未来型人才”正是时代交给我们的责任;探索一条立足中国本土的未来教育之路也成了我们的使命。
2014-2015记忆碎片
从2014年9月宁波海曙校区最初的108个孩子，到2023年9月五校超过8000名学生，不到10年的时间，赫德/赫贤在五个中国一线及新一线城市安家，并实现了所有学校从K到12年级的贯通，放在任何一个尺度下去衡量，这都是非常了不起的结果。

回望2014年的夏天，我们在宁波解放南路10号，那个被香樟树的浓荫遮蔽的坐静小院落，构想未来教育的模样。这一路，我们遇到过无教的“意外”，做过很多课程上的突破，经历过校舍搬迁、组织裂变等等飞跃期的阵痛。让我欣喜的是我们拥有一支对教育葆有极大热情和专业度的队伍。这个组织充满了旺盛的生命力，似乎任何变化甚至变革，在宁波校区都可以被迅速接纳、融合和拓展。这支队伍，我愿意称之“赫德铁军”!是你们让我坚信，梦在心中，路在脚下。

这10年的探索，也让我深刻意识到：培养国际化的中国人不仅仅是一句口号，而是包含了对国家课程标准深刻的理解、国际课程和资源真正本土化的落实和在此基础上两种课程基于统一评测标准和育人目标的融合。好的教育在我看来都是相通的，只有好与不好的教育，没有国际和国内的教育。所有好的教育都来自于孩子的自我驱动，所有的动力都来自于内心的澎湃。

转眼间，宁波赫德即将迎来第7届毕业生。过去的6届毕业生们，带着赫德的印迹从宁波出发，走向世界各地，TA们中的一些人已经踏上工作岗位，有些继续在更高阶的学术殿堂深造。当我看到TA们带着身为炎黄子孙的民族自豪感，拥有优秀的中英文素养和远大的理想，我更加坚信，美好而宏大的未来已经奔赴而来。

感谢这个时代，让中国的民办教育得以找到其存在与发展的土壤，并成为中国教育生态中不可或缺的力量。如果要问我，在第二个10年，如何去界定赫德与赫贤的成功，我想，那应该是我们的学校不仅能吸引更多本土的优秀学子，更能吸引来自世界不同国家的优秀学子，并在“归一”的课程体系中，成为理解中国、拥抱世界的最好的自己。

Dear HD families，
With the start of 2024. HD Ningbo School is about to celebrate its tenth birthday. Over the past decade, HD School has transformed from an idea to a seed, and then grown to become a vibrant and robust tree. Following HD Ningbo School, we succeeded in opening campuses in Shanghai, Beijing, Qingdao, and Nanjing in the following seven years. I am honoured to be able to walk on this exciting but no means easy journey with all of you.
The rapid changes and development across the world over the years have made us realise how important it is to present our views, history, and culture in a language, text, and logic that the world can understand. It is our responsibility and mission to cultivate the next generation of talented individuals with Chinese roots and global prospects, meanwhile exploring a path of future-ready education from local contexts.
Memories of HD 2014-2015
Our number of students at HD/HT Schools has increased dramatically from the initial 108 at the Ningbo Haishu campus in September 2014 to over 8000 students by September 2023 in five of China's top cities, and all of our schools across China have encompassed the K-12 spectrum. All these happened in less than a decade, and this is remarkable by any standard.

Looking back at the summer of 2014, we started to envision the future of education in the shade of camphor trees in the quiet courtyard at No,10 Jiefang South Road, Ningbo. Along this journey, we have encountered countless "surprises" made many curricular breakthroughs, and experienced the growing pains of school relocation and organizational fission during our take-off. Much to my delight we have a team with great passion and professionalism for education. This organisation is filled with vibrance and it seems that any changes or even reforms can be quickly accepted, integrated, and expanded in our Ningbo campus. l would like to call this team "an iron army", for it is you who make me believe that dreams are in our hearts, and the road is under our feet.

Our exploration in education over the past 10 years has made me deeply realize that cultivating internationally-minded Chinese citizens is not just a slogan, but about deep understanding of national curriculum standards, the localization of international curricula and resources, and the integration of the two based on unified assessment and educational objectives. In my opinion, good education is universal and there is no difference between the international and domestic. All good education is about inspiring children's intrinsic motivation, and this motivation comes from the inner calling and passion within each of us.

In the blink of an eye, HD Ningbo School is about to send off its seventh class of graduates. The past six classes of graduates, carrying the imprint of HD School, have set off from Ningbo to various parts of the world, Some of them have already stepped into their careers, while others continue to further pursue their studies in universities around the world. As l see them grow and become globally fluent whilst being proud of their Chinese national identity, l am even more convinced that a bright and grand future is already on its way.
Last but not least, l am very grateful for this era, which has allowed private education in China to find its soil to exist , develop, and become an indispensable force in the education ecosystem of China. If you ask me how to define the success of HD and HT Schools in the next 10 years, I think it should be that our school can not only attract more outstanding local students, but outstanding students from around the world, and help them become the best version of themselves through our integrated curriculum.
