青岛国际学校赫德小学|如何在探索中，学会守护地球家园？

Two weeks ago, the children at HDQD learned about Earth Week. During this important week, the pupils discussed the importance of protecting our planet. They completed numerous activities in the classroom, learning about the impact humans have had on the planet as well as ways in which we can change to look after the Earth. 

青岛国际化小学赫德小学部近期举行了“地球周”活动。在这有意义的一周里，学生们讨论了保护地球的重要性。孩子们在班里完成了各式各样的活动，既学习了人们的行为对于地球的影响，又讨论了人们如何通过改变行为方式来保护地球。

Grade 1 explored the beauty of nature      一年级探索大自然的美

All the students across the primary school took some time to think carefully about their carbon footprint. They learned that everything we do has an impact on the environment and if we make small changes to our daily routine, we could reduce our carbon footprint and have a positive effect on the planet.

青岛国际化小学赫德的所有同学都思考了自己的“碳足迹”——孩子们了解到，我们做的每一件事都会对环境产生影响，假如我们在日常生活中能够做出小小的改变，就能够减少“碳足迹”，对我们居住的星球产生积极有益的影响。

All the pupils in the primary school made promises to the Earth to reduce their carbon footprint.

Throughout the week, the pupils have taken part in a range of activities, including: the effect climate change has on animal habitats, recycling, awareness of ‘fast fashion’ and its impact on the planet, greener alternatives to burning fossil fuels for energy, and consuming less meat to reduce energy consumption.

在这一周，孩子们进行了一系列研究活动，比如：气候变化对于动物栖息地的影响；回收利用；“快时尚”对地球的影响；化学燃料有哪些更环保的替代品；少食肉以减少能源消耗等等。

Grade 3 and 4 explored how polar bears have adapted to their habitats and the impact climate change has had

三四年级孩子研究了北极熊如何适应栖息地以及气候变化带来的影响

Grade 5 and 6 created some powerful protest art about the impact climate change has had on polar bears.

五六年级孩子们制作了关于“气候变化对北极熊的影响”海报

During Literacy and Language class, some of the Grade 5 and 6 pupils celebrated the importance and beauty of trees by writing poems using similes.

在读写语言课，部分五六年级的学生使用比喻的修辞手法创作诗歌，赞颂“树”的重要性和美好

At the end of the week, the students gathered for a class assembly where they created a class ‘Eco Code’ – a selection of rules that they promise to follow in the classroom to reduce their carbon footprint. We even nominated class ‘Eco Warriors’: students responsible for ensuring everyone is following the code.

周五，在班级集会时间，孩子们共同制定了班级“环保公约”——他们将遵循一系列守则来减少班级内的“碳足迹”。同学们还推选了班级“环保卫士”——他们负责确保每个人遵守班级环保公约。

It would be fantastic if you could speak to your children about the importance of looking after the planet and even begin to think about ways to reduce your carbon footprint at home and within your community.

希望家长们也能够和孩子聊一聊保护地球的重要性，甚至可以想一想在家里和社区内如何减少“碳足迹”——这将是一件非常棒的事情！
